Gov. Andy Beshear gives COVID-19 briefing

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WYMT) - Governor Andy Beshear held a COVID-19 update on Monday.

He gave an update on vaccines, case numbers, and incident rates.

In his latest COVID-19 report, the Governor announced 822 new COVID-19 cases across the Commonwealth on Monday, bringing the case total to 773,602.

194 of the new cases were children 18 and younger. 809 Kentuckians remain hospitalized. 203 people remain in the ICU, with 101 on a ventilator.

The state’s positivity rate now sits at 6.56%.

The Governor also announced 44 new COVID-19 deaths on Monday, bringing the statewide total to 10,707.

86 counties across the state are in the red zone on the state’s COVID-19 incidence rate map. Robertson County leads the state with an incidence rate of 128.8 per 100,000 people.
